
Andrew Tamale (He/Him)
Andrew is a Founding Member and Board Secretary of Youth Boundless, where he contributes to organizational governance and strategic direction.
He is a medical scientist with a background in community health, clinical research, and healthcare ethics. His early work focused on HIV and tuberculosis care implementation in rural Uganda, where he supported frontline teams delivering comprehensive HIV services to underserved and high-risk populations. This work emphasized strengthening systems of care, improving access, and supporting clinicians working in resource-limited settings.
He has also worked extensively in health research, contributing to a Phase III randomized clinical trial aimed at improving the safety of transfusable blood products in Uganda. In this role, he supported participant screening and enrolment, informed consent processes, follow-up care, and regulatory and administrative trial operations, helping advance evidence-based improvements in patient care.
Andrew currently works with Unity Health Toronto at the Centre for Clinical Ethics, where he supports clinicians and healthcare teams in navigating complex ethical challenges at both the bedside and the organizational level. His work bridges clinical care, research, health law, and policy.
